Black Friday

Here's the thing about Black Friday: some things are worth it and some just aren't. And when I actually think about Black Friday, I hate it. But at the same time I absolutely love it. I'm clearly having a lot of inner turmoil right now...

Anyways, I think Black Friday is great for people who are looking to save money (duh). It just bothers the absolute shit out of me that it's the day after Thanksgining. Like dear lord, can we please just take a full 24 hour to be thankful for what we have?! People keep referring the Thursday before Black Friday as "Brown Thursday". Are you kidding? It has a damn name already. Thanksgiving. Our first national holiday has been a little overshadowed.

I have participated in Black Friday in the past. I used to go with my best friend, AC every year. It was fun, but I couldn't tell you what I bought or how much I saved. The only parts that actually matter to me is how many energy drinks we consumed, the piles of newspaper ads we searched through, and the miles and miles of lines we stood in just so we could enter a store.

I do honestly think that in the future I will participate in Black Friday again. When I have a family to shop for and someone to go with me. Oh, and a steady income. Until then, I am going to celebrate Black-Out from Leftovers Friday in my sweats.

  1. I have a love/hate relationship with Black Friday. I love getting stuff for cheap but hate the crowds and chaos. And I always spend more money than I planned!
