What a Week | Week 1 | 2017

7:00 AM

HAPPY FIRST FRIDAY OF 2017!  Y'all we pretty much made it through the first week of the year and I hope it's been good to you, even though a lot of people had to head back to work.  It's been a pretty good week for me.  I didn't have work or classes so I was able to relax, be productive around the house, and even have some time for my hobbies (aka napping).  I thought it would be fun to do a weekly recap each week of the year, hopefully sticking with it so I end up with 52 of them by next year.  I'm not sure if I'll do any monthly or seasonal recaps, but we'll see!

What I ate: Chipotle sofritas
I hadn't tried Chipotle's sofritas until this week and they are SO good!  Even Paul, who isn't a vegetarian, loved the texture and the taste.  Sofritas is a mix of shredded firm tofu and sofrito, a blend of herbs and spices that are used in Central and Latin American cooking.  When you have food this good, it's really easy to not eat meat because you don't even miss it.

What I read: Dorothy Must Die by Danielle Paige
Long story short, this book is about a Kansan girl who ends up in Oz and is recruited to kill Dorothy who came back to Oz and then just messed everything up.  Overall a very interesting and creative read, but did we really have to have so many pages for such an anticlimactic ending?!  Looks like it's time to get the next book in the series so I can see what happens next.

What I did: Cleaned the entire apartment
Clearly, I had a lot of time on my hands this week since I finished a 450-page book and cleaned the entire apartment...  It isn't exactly the most exciting thing to do, but it feels so damn good to walk into a clean apartment every time I come home.

What I planned: Next week
I didn't have work, class, or anything else this week so I didn't have anything "exciting" to share in my planner.  I sat down and lightly decorated next week in my planner so I could fill out a little bit of my work schedule, class schedule, and appointments.  I think I'll decorate my planner a little more once I get used to it and find some inspiration on Instagram, but this is good for now!
