February '17 Goals

6:00 AM

In true Samantha fashion, my February goals post is just a little bit late.  I used to be the kind of person who was always early, but that's pretty rare now and I'm more than happy to just be on time.  Now that January has come and gone a little quickly, it's time to focus on the next month.  January was a little all over the place for me, but my main goal of giving up meat was achieved!  I was pretty good about spending less money, but this month is going to be a no-spend month.  I also finally got to the library to get a card so more reading will be on my goals' list for this short month.  I've decided to arrange it by overarching goals, weekly goals, and daily goals after loving that format on Camryn's post about her February goals.  Here's what else is on my list.

Don't spend any money on nonessentials.  I am allowing spending on stamps (see next goals) and two coffee trips per week, but only because I can then justify that as my treat and won't be able to justify any other spending.

Write a card every day for National Correspondance Writing Month.  I love receiving mail and I'm sure others do too!

Create inspiration boards for the house.  Paul and I live in an apartment right now, but we're looking at moving into a rental house within the next couple of months if it works out.  We don't have any details, but it gives me a reason to make some inspiration boards for when we look at furniture.

Do yoga at home three times a week.  I love using the Down Dog app or going through a hatha yoga series just at home with some calming ambient music from Insight Timer.  It really clears my mind and makes me feel more aware of my surroundings.  I'd like to learn more about yoga, like the history and traditional practices.

Go to the gym twice a week.  This one may be a lot more difficult for me.  When I get home for the day, I don't want to leave.  I'm a homebody and I don't necessarily love working out so it's sometimes impossible to get me to the gym.

Visit the library once a week.  Like I said, I have a library card now so I would like to read more often.  My goal is to read one book per week.  Another goal is to go to the library to do classwork since I have trouble focusing at home.

Drink three bottles of water.  I don't do well when I'm keeping track of ounces for whatever reason, but I do just fine when I'm keeping track of bottles.  I usually use either a 16-ounce or 20-ounce bottle, so that should be enough, especially on days when I don't work out.

Use Grid Diary to reflect on my day.  This app is awesome for journaling.  You select or write prompts and then fill them out each day.  I like to write about spending, health, gratitude, and goals each day.
