What a Week | Week 6 + 7 | February 2017

8:00 AM

I would love to say that life has been just too hectic or too busy or too exciting for me to blog for the past couple of weeks, but I honestly just kept forgetting.  I'd have all of these great ideas while I was just falling asleep, but forget to write them down and have no idea what I was thinking the next morning.  Still, I wanted to do a quick recap of the past couple of weeks since my ONLY goal for blogging this year was to keep up with these weekly highlight posts, no matter how boring they may seem.

WEEK 6:

We celebrated three years together.  Yep, Paul and I have officially been dating for three years.  He still seems to like me, so I have to be doing something right?  I would say the highlight of our anniversary was him surprising me with an Edible Arrangements delivery at work.  Ordering pizza for dinner was pretty fantastic, too.

I read The Woman in Cabin 10 by Ruth Ware.  I loved pretty much every bit of it because I did not expect it to unravel how it did.  At first, I hated the ending because it just seemed too simple and cliche for the main character, but it is what it is.

We enjoyed plenty of donuts.  Y'all, this was the highlight of our weekend.  We accidentally ordered a dozen donuts from Dunkin Donuts (we asked for a half dozen, but they misheard us) and we were enjoying them for nearly a week.  The brownie batter donut is so rich and so worth it.

WEEK 7:

We had a lowkey Valentine's Day.  We were both super exhausted after a couple of early mornings and long days, so we just stayed home.  Of course, there were red hearts full of chocolate involved.  Paul also surprised me with an Amazon gift card and I'm still trying to figure out what to get!

Friday was date night and Saturday was dinner with friends.  We went to Okami, a hibachi and sushi restaurant by the college that has an all-you-can-eat menu.  We've done that before, but I was in the mood for some miso and hibachi so I had that instead.  Paul had a couple sushi rolls and miso soup as well.  Really yummy!  On Saturday, we went to Nema and fell in love with it.  It has a simple, cozy atmosphere with brick walls and low lighting.  I wanted pretty much everything on their menu and rhey even had vegan and gluten-free options.  We'll be back for sure.

I received my first Hum Nutrition order.  I'm a huge fan of subscription boxes, so once I realized that I could get supplements delivered to my door, I jumped on it.  You can get $20 off your first box, so why not?  I got a daily cleanse supplement, a nighttime supplement, and an energy supplement.  Now to wait a couple weeks for them to really kick in.  Yes, it really does take 2-4 weeks for supplements to take effect.
